Both Highway and Dagoretti Mixed will represent Nairobi Region at the upcoming national championships in Kakamega.

Reigning High school football national champions Highway Boys Secondary School are the Nairobi Region boys’ football champions after defeating Olympic Secondary School 2–0 in a tightly contested final held at Nairobi School on Saturday evening.

Coached by Harambee Starlets tactician Beldine Odemba, Highway secured the victory through two second-half goals by a substitute student nicknamed ‘Zidane Zizou’, in a repeat of last year’s Nairobi Region semifinal clash.

The first half was evenly balanced, with both teams missing clear opportunities. Highway looked more threatening but failed to capitalize on their chances, and the half ended goalless.

Odemba made a tactical change at the break, introducing Zidane in place of her preferred starting number 9. The substitution paid off moments later, Zidane scored with his first chance of the game and later added a second late in the match to seal the win.

In the girls’ final, Dagoretti Mixed edged Soweto Girls 1–0 thanks to a hard-fought second-half goal.

Both Highway and Dagoretti Mixed will represent Nairobi Region at the upcoming national championships in Kakamega. Dagoretti has been seeded in Group B alongside Butere Girls and Madira Girls (Western), as well as Kobala Girls (Nyanza). Highway awaits further communication on their group placement.
